Product Selection, Services, and Co-Ordination

In building a home, the client family must make various selections at different stages in the building process. At Rajala Homes, we accompany our clients on all selection appointments so as to offer assistance in the selections, provider a chauffered ride to different design centers, and to co-ordinate and validate opinions and design themes outlined by the client.

Rajala Homes is unique in the Design/Build industry by accomplishing the entire selection process before the Partnership Building Agreement is signed. By nature, the selection process lends itself to more misunderstandings than any other phase of construction. By making the product selections in advance with the client family, it is possible to eliminate a mismatch in selection expectations and the resulting shock and surprise of the extra's list at completion and closing.

As an example, some of the selection forms we use determine:

Cabinetry and Vanities:

The size of different base and wall cabinets are documented, as well as any and all accessories such as spice racks, waste basket drawers, knife drawers, Manufacturer, Style, Material decription, color, finish, and the type and style of the drawer and door pulls.

Plumbing Fixtures:

Location and style of whirlpool, along with manufacturer, color, accessories, tub valve type, finish, and location, spout style and location, water closet color, manufacturer, model #, seat type and style, flush level finish, etc.

Paint and Wallpaper:

Manufacturer, lot #, Pattern #, match/repeat length, American or metric, sizing requirement, and required glue type. Paint manufacturer, color, finish, gloss, primer requirements, number of coats, room location, etc.
